I’m Jess Miller, the tea-sipping, cat-loving, Sydney-dwelling wordsmith behind Teapot Kettle.
Born into a family where a cup of tea was more than just a beverage, but a moment of connection, my love for tea started at a young age. My father, a globetrotting businessman, would often be away for weeks at a time. But upon his return, tour special father-daughter bonding ritual was to indulge in a fancy afternoon tea. These are memories that I hold dear.
As I moved on to the labyrinth of university life, my love for tea took on a new dimension. Amidst deadlines, late-night study sessions, and the stress of essays and exams, I discovered the calming magic of herbal teas. They became my secret stress-busting weapon, my study buddy, and my sleep inducer, all rolled into one.
Now, my morning doesn’t start until I’ve had a pot of Jasmine tea, an aromatic elixir that kicks my brain into gear. As the day wears on, I’ll often switch to a robust Orange Pekoe, a nod to my afternoon tea rituals with my father. And when the day winds down, I finds solace in the soothing embrace of Chamomile tea.
